LeeAnn Smith, Renal Dietitian LeeAnn Smith will answer questions relating to the science of nutrition and how your treatment option affect your diet. Stuart Mott, Cannulation Expert Stuart Mott will answer questions relating to cannulation and the patient's experience with dialysis needles. Beth Witten, Social Worker Beth Witten, MSW, ACSW, LSCSW, is a Resource and Policy Associate for Medical Education Institute. Currently Beth also consults with the Missouri Kidney Program where she and her daughter Amy coordinate Patient Education Program classes in the Kansas City area for people with chronic kidney disease. In the past, Beth worked for the National Kidney Foundation where she developed educational materials for a renal community education and awareness initiative for Medicare Part D. In addition, Beth provided consultation to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a member of the ESRD Training & Support Team for a decade. In that position, she helped train ESRD surveyors and answer questions about the dialysis regulations from them and members of the renal community. Beth has decades of experience as a nephrology social worker advising patients and professionals. She can answer your questions about dialysis reimbursement, Medicare policy, living and working with kidney disease, and the dialysis regulations, including patient rights and responsibilities. Dr. John Agar, Nephrologist Dr. John Agar will answer questions relating to the how and why of the dialysis process and the impact of dialysis on human physiology. Dr. Shree Mulay and Josh Dipzinski, PD Experts Josh Dipzinski will be assisting in answering all of your PD questions! Dr. Shree Mulay grew up in Dyersburg, TN, where he often followed his father, Dr. Ramakant Mulay, as he took care of kidney patients in clinics and hospitals. Shree had a love for all things technology and a greater passion for serving and caring for the community through the practice of nephrology. He attended medical school at Mahatma Gandhi Mission Medical School in Navi Mumbai, India, and completed residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he met his wife Anna, who also became a nephrologist. Following their marriage and a Fellowship in Madison, WI, the pair moved back to Shree’s hometown to work with the elder Dr. Mulay, upon whose retirement they founded The Kidney Experts, which now has 11 staff. Anna and Shree have a patient-centered approach and guide their staff to offer empathy and compassion to every individual who enters The Kidney Experts’ doors. They are highly skilled in providing all levels of innovative kidney care and practices alongside an extraordinary team, including three advanced practice providers and a growing team of 11 practice staff. Together, the Kidney Experts team operates four clinics and supports more than 20 dialysis sites across west Tennessee and southern Missouri, while managing patients across several hospitals. Shree has special interests in home therapies and transplant, is a pioneer in peritoneal dialysis, and is a leader in promoting kidney transplantation by advocating for patient transplants and transplant referrals. The Kidney Experts supported five transplants in 2021 and has already arranged four kidney transplants in 2022.
