Judith Bernardini, RN, BSN, is Adjunct Research Assistant Professor, School of Medicine and Adjunct Clinical Instructor, School of Nursing for the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Bernardini was a clinical research nurse at the University of Pittsburgh from 1982-2006 with her primary focus on PD research to improve outcomes for PD patients. She has numerous publications, including co-authorship of the first PD University for Nurses course for the International Society for PD (ISPD) and development of an ISPD web-based video to guide nurses training patients for PD. She served on the ISPD Council from 2001-2006, chaired the Nurse Liaison Committee of ISPD from 1998-2001, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award in the Field of PD in 2007. Retired since 2006, she remains active as a teacher and consultant on CQI projects around the world and remains active in the ISPD.
