# Blood transfusion during HD

Situation 1: CKD pt has 86mg/dl hemoglobin result and was ordered for Blood Transfusion during dialysis.

Question: After BT should i still give the post dialysis erythroietin injection or not?  
Thank you.

Situation 2: CKD patient has blood pressure of 200-230/90-100mmHg during dialysis treatment despite giving 3 Clonidine 150mcg was given hourly BP did not decrease.  
Patient hemoglobin is 90mg/dl.

Question: After dialysis, should i give the erythropoietin injection if the BP is too high? Which is the priority the hemoglobin or the BP. Kindly explain.

I am not a doctor and no doctor has yet (or may) respond to your questions with so few facts to go on. Therefore, I would strongly recommend that you ask the patient’s doctor/prescriber these questions. Your patient with high BP is at risk of a stroke so controlling his/her BP in my opinion as a non-physician should be the first priority.
