Chair

I see in the regs that it says Medicare pays for a chair for home txs. Is this a professional model chair like in-center or an ordinary recliner chair? In the regs it stated it can not rock, vibrate, heat etc. Would be nice wouldn’t it? What is the limit they will pay? Who orders the chair and from where?

Medicare doesn’t pay extra to the clinic for the chair. It’s part of the standard equipment set up that a clinic provides for home hemodialysis. Medicare pays a set amount for each dialysis treatment and the costs of the initial set up have to be made up over time, just like the other start up costs. You could ask the clinic what kind of chair home dialysis patients can get. If you want a chair that has more bells and whistles, ask if you can pay the difference to get those added amenities.
