Thought you would like to know that I spent the day yesterday at the NYS Legislature, Lobbying with Nathional Kidney Foundation of Northeast New York and other affiliates.
It was a great day!
The biggest thing that was announced by the Lt. Gov. David Patterson was the establishing of Chronic Kidney Disease Early Detection Control and Prevention Task Force through the Department of Health.
The goal of the task force is to make sure New Yorkers who have kidney disease, or who are at risk of Kidney Disease, will receive the best possible treatment.
Prevention and early detection are critical. Hopefully after the task force works up the silibus it will come up with great ways to put it into action.
Hope I can serve on this. I think it would be really a great experience as well as me getting my thoughts to be heard.
