I ordered 25 of these Rescue clamps from Cardiomed (Canada) after the dialysis technician broke it during my treatment. They’re solution was for me to get the entire catheter exchanged. CardioMed sold me a minimum of 25 for $110.00 4 yrs ago. The dialysis center I treat at refused to insert it. I was afraid to try and do it. The Interventional Radiologist Department at a local hospital did so in less the 5 minutes. I gave them 5 of my rescue clamps to thank them. All dialysis centers should have them at the ready. My center has similar rescue clamps now but theirs are to small. They put excessive pressure on the lumens that can cause premature failure of the catheter due to clamp stress. You should always keep 1 or 2 with you at all times in case a clamp breakage occurs.
