Dialysis in a nursing home

Does Medicare part B cover dialysis in a skilled care facility under the “homecare benefit”?

thanks for your help

Some dialysis facilities are located in nursing homes or connected to them. Other dialysis clinics use their own staff or train patients, families or staff of nursing homes to do dialysis in the nursing home (considered the patient’s home). The charges for dialysis are billed to Medicare Part B (and/or other insurance) by the dialysis facility that provides “support services” (clinics and follow-up with the dialysis RN, dietitian, and social worker). Medicare does not pay for a home helper.
