You can get steal syndrome if your access takes too much blood away from the rest of your arm or hand. It’s painful, like your hand going numb. My surgeon went back in and clipped off some of the small, “feeder” blood vessels to my fistula, and that helped.

Steal Syndrome, I think I might have that…already went and had an angiogram done and was told too much blood is flowing through fistula…leaving my hand rather dark looking and numb…it’s already beginning to get painful…

Thanks for sharing!

So, what is your doc planning to do about it? I don’t think that’s something you can safely leave alone.

Still waiting final say from Doctor…stated it might have to be narrowed down bit…

Just had surgery the 11th and still am recovering…so far it seems that the artery leading to the hand was narrowing down causing lack of blood flow to hand…

Uncertain whether this one time surgery will solve future complications BUT I hope it does…well at least for a ling time to come.
