I have been doing PD dialysis for about 3 weeks and I am having terrible trouble with frequent alarms. I have tried changing position, I have looked at the lines for kinks or fibrogen and found nothing. I have had a few good nights but when I do the same thing the next night it does not work. Last night was a good example, I had a few alarms early in the night but about 5 am the alarm and the slow flow warning beeps started to go off every 10 or 15 minutes. After an hour of this I decided to get up and make my tea and read in my chair. The beeps continued and the alarms came about every 20 minutes until I terminated the treatment at noon. The machine was on the 4th of 5 drains when I terminated the treatment. I have tried all of the suggested fixes and I am not constipated.
One more night with constant alarms. It started on the first drain cycle until I turned off the cycler. I tried laying on my right side, my left side and then my back, no improvement. I got up this morning and turned it on as I walked around and sat in my chair it still alarmed and beeped every 15 -20 minutes. I turned it off again at 1:30 pm and it had not completed the 2nd drain.
Has the height of the cycler been adjusted any? Sometimes that can help. Might not hurt to call the technical help line for the cycler. Maybe a replacement is necessary.
