High arterial pressure

My mum is doing home HD with myself being her caring parner. We’ve been at home since Feb 26 this year after 12 years at lincoln renal unit UK.

Just started using blunt needles in both sites and noticed the arterial pressure went up to -200. I’ve reduced the pump speed down from 350 to 300 and the arterial is now a comfortable -165

Fantastic! Good for you for keeping an eye on this, and a lower pump speed is gentler in the short term–and therefore less likely to cause turbulence and stenosis in her access over the long-term.

Many thanks for your reply. We are currently button holing and are trialing a months daily dialysis.

Terrific! If you are on Facebook, you may want to join our discussion group. There are other folks from the UK.

I’ve just sent a request. Many thanks X
