hi I’ve been doing my son’s (3 y/o) dialysis for a long time now. We had switched to a baxter home pro choice, and we suddenly had issues with pump stop working mid-treatment. I have replaced 6 machines, in the past year. Last night his machine’s pump stoped working on a fill. I called and replaced it, and tonight it stoped working on a drain. I called the techs, and after arguing with one got a ‘flag man’ - floor supervisor, who gave me a new trick - in case of the pump no longer working only - clamp off your cath, turn the machine off for 30 seconds and back on. it is apparently a software issue that loops the alarm without triggering the pump. It’s a last ditch effort before giving up on another machin … I hope someone finds this helpful!
