My wife has had a graft now for about 2 months. The techs at the dialysis center have difficulty getting needles in the graft and at present only 4 techs are allowed to insert the needles as it is very difficult (graft moves, plastic hard to pierce, etc.). It is fairly often painful and once after multiple attempts she came home without dialysis and was rescheduled for a day one of the 4 techs were going to be there.
Is home dialysis still a possibility? What will make it easier? I am willing to try, but due to the difficulty she sees and feels, my wife is not sure we should try.
