As you well know, data from FHN suggests that urine output decreases in association with more intense dialysis. I have AKI due to obstructive uropathy. Obstruction removed. Current urine output after six months of hemodiaysis of 1200 mls/day (improved in the last 2 weeks). During this time, due to pericarditis, I was 6 HD sessions/week. Currently, 4 hours 4 times weekly with stdKt/V of 3.4. Thus far change in serum creatinine.
Should I at this point intensify my dialysis regimen or stick to it in order not to compromise potential recovery of the kidneys?
