It is getting to that time of year when some of us can anticipate some bad weather that might lead to power outages. I thought I’d let everyone who might be wondering about generators for their NxStage that you can call NxStage’s tech support and they will tell you what you need to know to help you choose the right size generator. They should also be able to tell you whether a UPS (battery backup) would be worth getting and if so what you’d need and for what purpose. I doubt they will recommend brands.
BTW, if you’re not on your utility company’s list of known individuals who use medical equipment requiring water and electricity, I’d advise you to talk with your clinic and/or the utility company about how to do that. At the very least, they should be able to let you know if there will be a planned outage and the best case scenario is that they put you on a priority list to get your utilities reinstated as a priority.
