PD cycler slow drain

Hi. I got a new cycler sent from baxter 2 weeks ago due to previous one that I’ve had for 4 years failing to start. Since i got the new one I’ve been having slow flow drains. At times taking 50mins to drain. This cuts into my programmed dwell time from 90 min to 15 - 20 min so I’m not getting effective dialysis. I’m not constipated. I’ve had to do manual exchanges in day and no problem. Draining out in 15 mins without no problem.
Called baxter keep saying check your cathether but no external kinks noted. No fibrin that i can see. Problem only started with new cycler.
The fact that I’m filling and draining manually without any problem argues against catheter issues per my logic. If there was mechanical issue with catheter then i shouldn’t be able to fill or drain manually either.
Has anyone ever had this type issue? I really want baxter to send a new cycler but right now they’re not budging and it’s getting frustrating.
Thanks

I am having the same issue. Have you resolved this yet???

Drain problems on PD can be related to many things, including constipation, catheter migration to where it is not near the rectum, clogging of the catheter with fibrin and/or wrapping of the catheter with omental tissue. Here’s an article that discusses some of these things that you might discuss with your home training nurse and/or nephrologist. Management of the Poorly Draining Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter - PMC

There are many posts about low or slow drains in the Home Dialysis Central Forums. You can use the search to see what has been suggested. Here’s one thread that a PD nurse responded to.
