I’ve just been told about another machine to be available around 20011/12 made by this company
According to the message I received I quote " Although it will not be available until 2011/2012 it is a UK machine and seems to be streets ahead of anything else including the NX Stage machine now coming into use in the UK from America"
Quanta Fluid Solutions introduces SelfCare+,
a light, small and simple to use portable
haemodialysis system designed for patient self
care.
The SelfCare+ system is based on a disposable
cartridge and it incorporates features that
provide extensive benefits for patients and
renal units.
SelfCare+ provides haemodialysis treatments
of the highest quality available. The SelfCare+
system generates a continuous supply of high
quality bicarbonate dialysate solution.
SelfCare+ uses standard dialysis consumables;
it is safe, simple and inherently clean.
Home care has been proven to be a very cost
effective form of renal care. SelfCare+ will
enable more patients to adopt home care.
The NX stage still wins for me at the moment as the Quanta still requires a bulky RO unit, not very portable.
I’m told they’re working on it.
[B]Yep! NxStage still wins hands down for me too. I looked at he schematics. It looks as if its a traditional RO machine with acid and bicarb, just shrunk down. No thanks.
