Our hemodialysis unit is looking to revise our new staff orientation program. If anyone is willing to share ideas, orientation checklists, CBO’s etc. can you please send them to me by e-mail or fax? jtobrocke@cvph.org or fax - 518-561-7470, attn: Joni. Thank you.

Have you looked at the Core Curriculum for Dialysis Technicians? Medical Education Institute worked with multiple experts to develp this resource:

Also ANNA has multiple publications that could help you, including manuals with continuing education credits.

For orienting staff who are new to dialysis, you can also use Kidney School (http://www.kidneyschool.org), which is a stage 3-5 CKD self-management learning center. We developed it for patients and families, but many centers have used it for new staff orientation as well, since the modules can be downloaded as pdfs, and they are easy to read.

CE credits are available for the first 2 modules, with applications in for 2 more, and additional ones to be added this year.
