SDD and SND and increased fluid removal

A technical person was explaining to us that with daily txs one can get more fluid off getting closer to one’s dry weight, the reason being, one is dialyzing more often and taking less off, so the fluid is able to get out of the tissues into the blood stream more readily. Did anyone notice this when they went from 3x in-center txs to daily txs? How much more fluid did you challnege off and how long did it take? How does it make you feel different?

Hi Heather. We have an article entitled Hemodialysis: Why More is Better that explains fluid removal in hemodialysis that you can read at http://www.homedialysis.org/v1/rotating/0106topicofthemonth.shtml.
