Showering or swimming after closing a session with buttonholes

Hello Stuart,

Is it necessary to cover the buttonhole sites after they’ve clotted before going for a shower or swimming an hour or so after coming off a session? My sites clot pretty fast and I usually shower about a couple of hours after. Wondering if it is safe to leave them open.

Your fine, I usually take a shower 45 to 1 hour after a session. I clot fast too.

Buttonhole sites close up usually with in 15 minutes. How ever any type of moisture will remove the clot and leave the area open for possible infection, if you what to swim are take a shower warp a piece of saran wrap and take off as soon as possible after you are done to avoid moisture that cause the scab to come off, which is a extra barrier for protection of your buttonhole sit.
