Small red bumps on body

My husband has been on peritoneal dialysis for 1 year. He has small bumps on his neck. arms and scalp. When he touches one, he gets a pain sensation over all the bumps. He received an anti itch cream and moisturized from a dermatologist. They don’t seem to help. He is on a phosphorous binder [Velsporo]. What can be causing these bumps?

What are his calcium and phosphorus levels? Did the doctor or dietitian tell him how to take the phosphate binder? Sometimes people take them at the wrong time during a meal.

Did the dermatologist take a biopsy of one or more of the bumps to see if that will help with a diagnosis to know how to treat them?
