Use of medoxidil

Does anyone have have knowledge or experience about the use of low dose medoxidil for reducing blood pressure and improving kidney function?

If you’re referring to Minoxidil, it is an old drug used to treat high blood pressure that is resistant to other anti-hypertensive drugs. High blood pressure can damage kidneys. Minoxidil has been used in people with kidney disease and kidney failure. Minoxidil has also been used for hair loss. It can have serious negative side effects and should not be taken without consulting a physician. The FDA has a “black box warning” on this drug. Here’s info from Mayo Clinic and FDA about Minoxidil. Side effects include fluid retention, heart issues, and even worsening kidney problems if dose isn’t adjusted correctly based on eGFR.
