I have been having a great deal of difficulty getting venofer for my home hemodialysis patients. The venofer folks say it should be covered under Medicare however that becomes invalid when they administer it at home. Private insurance companies will not pay for it either, siteing it as non-formulary…etc. The out-of -pocket expense can be significant. Does anyone have any insight into this?
