When is a time to go on PD Dialysis?

Hi I have a question. When is a time to go on PD Dialysis?
I’m at about 11% of my kidney function but my generak health is ok. I’m 5’9" and 150 LBs

I know that some people started theirs much early thats why I have these concerns.

And one more childish question. Does it heart when they insert the tubing in your belly?
